Default What does this part do?

Hey just doing the fuel system on my conversion using an internal tank mounted Walbro pump, Corvette Reg/Filter, Got me beat what the part on my fuel rail does is it needed? What does it do? I notice all Aftermarket Rails dont have it.

Picture is kinda small. You say it is a vette reg and filter, Does that mean the regulator is somewhere between the tank and the rails?

if you mean the round metal thingy then it is the fuel presure regulator.

I do, how can that be a regulator there is no return?

That isn't the regulator. It is a fuel pressure dampner. Fuel almost pulses as it enters the rail. This takes that pulse out and allows the fuel to come in at a smoother rate. I'm pretty sure the only cars to have a regulator on the rail is a '97-98 vette.
