would you buy this?
ive been wanting to get a new exhaust on my car since i got it..
I have someone whose offering to sell a
full magnaflow SS catback
SS y-cutout
QTP electric 3" cutout w/ attached wiring
3way switch (open/off/closed) with inline fuse
he wants $400.. Originally i just wanted the cutout but i was just wondering if you guys thought this was a good deal for the whole package he doesnt want to seperate it because its all welded together
I also have someone trying to sell me c5 chrome rims for $400 18" but some chrome is starting to bubble on one of the wheels and i really dont know what to go with what should I do?

right now everything on my ride as far as exhaust goes is stock, so thats why i thought it would be an awesome buy but im debating because its 3 years old and he wants 400 for it.. Im trying to make him do it for 300...because i still gotta pay someone to install it i don't have a garage anymore since i moved. I mean i dont need a catback like i said originally i was just going to go with a cutout but hey if theres a caback for the right price i might just say screw the cutout.

sounds like a really good deal. All stainless catback, and i disagree with the quiet part.. maybe cause of the longtubes.
qtp makes sweet cutouts too. (all of their products are pretty nice)

I agree with ULTIMATEORANGESS. As far as aftermarket catbacks go, Magnaflow is on the quiet end.

Short version: Do it.
Long version:
Magnaflow catback, I purchased new from an ebay vendor for $350 I believe. Ran into too many rusted bolts during install & it ended up taking all afternoon.
You can get the cutout itself for ~30 anywhere.
E-Cutout Plate: bought mine for 75 from a friend.
Paid $40 for someone to weld it in the mid-pipe.
I think I paid $5 for my switch & used this diagram to wire it up: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y186/Czop/Wiring2.jpg
Spent 1.5hrs between running the wiring from under the rear seat, under the carpet, under the center console, then through the ashtray to the switch, then crimping & connecting all the wires.
I paid $500 total & got a good deal on everything.
In your case, the welding is already done & you're getting the same quality parts--3 years isn't going to do anything to stainless steel. You'll save a good amount of weight over stock, free up a couple of horsepower, the tips are more aesthetically pleasing, the magnaflow tone is mellow compared to other catbacks but "just right" for a stock muscle car, and you have an e-cutout for when you want to scare little children. Make sure the cutout functions and buy the package.
