4.8 engine dimesions
I am new to the LS game as far as swaps.
I have been told that the 4.8 is a little smaller dimensionally in size than a 5.3. Is this correct?
I am building a swap into a 914 Porsche and planned on a 5.3 aluminum LS. If the 4.8 can be had in aluminum and is "smaller" this would be even better. Since the finished car will only weigh about 2100 lbs a 5.3 or 4.8 stock should have plenty of power.
I look forward to your help and suggestions!

Dimensionally, they are identical! They actually use the same engine block. The 4.8 has a slightly shorter stroke than the 5.3L, which is where the difference in displacement comes from.

Thanks for the information.
Myself I found it difficult to believe that the dimensional size of the engine would be different than any other LS but with GM you never know.
Looks like I will still go with the aluminum 5.3.
Thanks for the help!
