coolant fan relay help
The coolant fans on my 1996 Z28 will not come on. I can watch the temperature gauge on the engine increase at stop lights. When I turn the A/C on the fans will turn on. I checked all the fuses and relays and they are all good. The Chilton's manual told me to check the circuit from the coolant fans back to the PCM. How do I test this circuit?

Fans on the lt1's are set really high from stock. If the car is not overheating, then 1. they are coming on and 2. I wouldnt worry about it.
The fan comes on when you turn on the AC because its programmed to do so. Sounds to me like they are working properly. (assuming your not oveheating)
If the temp bothers you, you have several options. 1. Get the car tuned to have the fans come on earlier. 2. put in a 160 t-stat (some people agree with them, some dont) 3. run one of the fans to a switch so its on whenever you want it to be.
Good luck.
