Just put headers on extremly high oil pressure?
Hi,
I just finished installing a set of pacesetter headers and finished hooking everything up. However when I went to start the car, I noticed the oil pressure went to past 80 mark when I turned the key to the position before start. Starting the car didn't change this either. I let it run for about 5 seconds and it was still at above 80. Did I break a sensor? Also I didn't put the oil dipstick back in all the way (there's about 1/2" left") because it wasn't budging. Could this be causing it? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Edit: could the sensor just be shorting out since even when the engine isnt on it jumps to 80?

I dont know for sure, I dont believe the PCM uses the signal for any reference for engine control, I dont think the check gauges light will come on unless the reading is really low. However, I would not leave it in that condition, You will be bypassing the only safety you have, and will not accurately be able to monitor your oil pressure. You can get a new sending unit at az for like 40 bucks.
