What tranny should I put behind 5.3

What tranny should I put behind 5.3 Ive got a 5.3 that I'm planning to put in my 71 chevelle. Any ideas for a tranny that will fit in the car. I was thinking 4l60 but I kinda want a manual tranny. Any ideas

Sounds like you already made up your mind,,, Go with the T-56 they can be had on here all the time, usually complete, from 1k-1500 is average.
automatic is up to you, You can even stick a th-350 or 400 behind it.
There is a ton of room in the tunnel of that chevelle so you should be good to go any of these transmissions.
