Default Newer to Trans Ams - need chassis advice

Here's a brief overview-

I'm continuing a project that my stepfather began. His 98 TA is wrecked and the search begins to find another TA to pull and sell the driveline out of, or find a roller. The engine/driveline in the wrecked TA that I will be using is an LS6/T56/Moser 12 bolt combo. I've been told that there's differences between auto and manual PCM's and harnesses. As well as differences between 98's and 99-02's PCM's.

Questions:

-I've found some 93-97's with 98+ front clips on them. What's involved in swapping my engine/driveline into these, wiring and computer-wise?

-I've also bounced around the idea of scooping up a cheaper V6 chassis and going from there. What differences besides engine/driveline are in these compared to the TA and Formulas?

I'm constantly reading up on this, but as I have just began, I thought I would ask some questions.

98 PCM's you don't want due to they don't have enough tables compared to 99-02. I think the wiring harness is diffrent a few plugs due to A4 and M6. And for the V6's you will swap the gauge cluster due to it only goes to 125 and a V8 car goes to 155. That's all I know i'm sure there's more and I might be wrong in some area's i'm sure someone will correct me or inform you better.

just match up the ecm and harness out of the same year 99-02 and you will be ok, everything should go right back to the ls6, make sure it is for a manual though.

however you could just re use your k member, ecm, harness and buy any 93-02 car you want, remember 99 and later cars have a intank fuel filter I belive, and the 98s have the filter on the fuel rails, keep that in mind

Also the 98's have metal fuel tanks and 99-02 have plastic....
