Default Head gaskets

I'm new to the LS style engines, I converted over from the SBC engines. I need some help with head gaskets. I have a 5.3L out of a truck and have the heads off it cleaning the up and doing a little work to them. I've seen different articles on head gaskets and was wondering what would be the best type and/or brand to use? Also I am putting an LS 6 intake on it and was wondering if I have to do any think special to make the intake fit on the 5.3L, ie: changing the valley plate or removing some of the fins on the bottom of the intake or any thing else?
I am sure I will have more questions to come so thanks in advance for any info.

I would use new GM MLS gaskets.

Yep, I would just go with the GM head, exhaust manifold gaskets and oil pickup oring and Fel-Pro for everything else. As far as the intake I would go with the updated LS coolant cross over that blocks off the 2 steam vents in the back, crosses over the front 2, the LS6 intake will bolt right up without any mods this way. Scoggin-Dickey Chevrolet (an LS1 tech sponsor = SDPC) can hook you up, they used to sell a kit for this build up fairly reasonable from what I remember too.

Thanks for all the info. I will look up Scoggin-Dickey Chevrolet for the parts.
