Default Good stock heads for 2004 5.7L

I'm looking at buying a 2004 5.7L long block from a GTO. What are the best heads for these motors that will flow the best.

whats your budget ?used stock 243s heads go for $400,and gain 15 rwhp .some TSP PRC ls6 cnc ported heads can net you 40 more rwhp for $1125.also look at some trick flow ($1700)or air flow research heads ($2300).ask around to find the right cam for each of these heads.

My budgets right around $3500 give or take a few hundred. I'd be shooting for 500 hp. Heard thats not much for the stock bottom ends in these motors. That True? Sounds like a big cam, valve springs, maybe pushrods, intake(looking to use a carb), and a set of headers is all you really need to be close to that hp mark.

try some tf215 or TSP prc 227 heads and a EPS cam from Patrick-g.

so if i ran those prc 227's and the right eps cam you think i could be close to 500 hp and a stock lower end would be alright?
