Noob Jackstand placement question
I'm 99% sure this is fine but I have a serious fear of getting under a car. I love working on them, just on a hoist. Wanted to double check jack stand placement before I do oil. (Yes I'm paranoid) 2 2-ton jack stands...
I have a lot I want to do under here but it's tough when you don't feel safe. Yes, my life insurance is paid up!!!

i've done it there before. if you have some inner tube between the stand and k-member. if you have another set it would be nice for them at rearend ends too. i use 4 stands. 2 under back axles first, then the front . the rear axle pivots on the rear stands as the front is raised. i have also raised it up 1 side at a time which is acually safer imo. thats all this fat oldman does is lay on my back to work on mine. i also have a chain fall in my garage. i've learned alot from this site in a very short time on how to work on these cars and i love it!!

Would anyone be good enough to put up some photos of where they are putting their stand and where they are jacking from? I know the manual says the pinch welds but that's not solid enough imo. and I've heard about people bending fenders. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a fear of getting under their car so let's see some photos of where you guys are jacking and putting stands!
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

You are fine putting those stands right there on the kmember, it is one of the strongest points on the front of the car,, as far as other places, I will put mine on the frame rail up under right about where the door hinges are.
I also jack my car up right there under the center of the kmember, just be careful, if you have a jack that has a large pad on the lift arm it could extend back and actually grab the front of the oil pan,,, and thats no good..
