New guy H/C swap
So I have a 98 WS6 trans am, which right now is stock except for slp lid, long tubes, y pipe and lm1 exhaust. Its an auto with 3.23 gears I believe. Im planning on doing a heads cam swap soon, and am looking for some advice. From all that ive read, im leaning towards PRC 5.3 stage II heads, and a MS3 cam. I also paln on getting a new stall likely 3600-4000 range.
Do you guys think this would be a good setup? I talked to John at texas speed and he suggested against the ms3 due to my 3.23 gears. he suggested I go with the 233/239 cam.
What do you think would be the best set up? The car will be a weekend driver and will hopefully see some track time.

Are there any good cams somewhere inbetween the 233/239 and the ms3? How about the tsunami cam?
Thanks for the replies guys. Also what gear ratio would you think to be ideal for this setup, if I were to swap them out?

The car will be lazy below 4k with the stock gears. They have given you good advice. The bigger cams take more rpm to make power. The drive train will need upgrades to handle the power and rpm strain
Replacing the gears in a 10 bolt usually causes them to break sooner then later. A smaller cam with the mods listed would make a nice driver. You could sell the 10 bolt and put the money towards a 12bolt with 3.73's.
I wouldn't do 4.10's with an auto.
I have them and they are too steep with a 60e.
