Odd cooling issue...
Well, in addition to the newly-cropped-up bent 3/4 shift fork, the dead A/C compressor, and some other piddly things that annoy me, now Im having an odd cooling problem.
Its a '98, so it tends to fluctuate, but I just drove about 25 miles home from work, mostly on the highway, in light traffic, and it pegged itself right under the 210 mark. Exactly where it sits when Im in heavy traffic with the fans running. Except of course that it stayed there for a 20 mile cruise at 45mph+... I mean, it never overheated, but I dont think I suddenly got an idiot gauge either.
Im tired, and cant get my brain to function right to puzzle this out. Does this sound like a fan problem? A water pump problem? Thermostat? I checked the fluids and they're fine. Grrrrr.

In my '02 I have an aftermarket temp guage, and it normally indicates about 210. Fans on lo @ 228 and fans on hi @ 235'ish. If I'm hearing you right, it sounds normal. If I'm cruising in the winter on the highway, it'll be around 200-205.
