Instrument cluster issues
I recently installed a 2002 ls1 in my 1998 camaro z28. The motor came complete with ECM wiring harness and transmission. I started it up and everything seems to work except the gauges on the instrument cluster( tach, oil pressure, speedometer, temp, ect). The cluster lights up and some dummy lights come on when it is running but does nothing else. Will the 1998 cluster work with the 2002 stuff? Do I need to install an 02 cluster? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The cluster is the same 98+... but the body harness, engine harness and ECU are different.
So right now, if i understand correctly... you have a 98 body harness, 99+ engine harness and ecu. So they are not going to communicate with eachother.
The 98 has 3 plugs in the pass side firewall. The 99+ only has 2. How was this hooked up?
Technically you should replace body harness to be a 99+ TA body harness (Trans am and camaro body harness are different also)... but that is a major PITA.
If you need anymore help feel free to PM me, ill gladly send you my number for faster answers to your questions.
