LS1 swap. Idea... need opinions
Hi all,
I've been doing a lot of research into swapping an LS engine into my '01 Isuzu VehiCross and have a run into a snag with the rules from DMV (I'm trying to do it 100% legally).
The issue is around the EVAP system.
DMV says I need to have the same EVAP components from the donor vehicle, in order to not throw a CEL... which will immediately fail their inspection (vehicle re-certification).
So, my idea is to take an LS1 F-body's EVAP system and try to hook it into the VehiCross's system and see if it breaks or throws a code on the stock V6's system.
(Note: The VehiCross uses many GM systems throughout it's design)
Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing, or have any ideas? Will this work?
Thanks!
JIM
