Default Ported 241 heads and hotcam?

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of ported 241 heads for relatively cheap today. all i know is that they are hand ported from a shop, with comp roller rockers. i will be running a gm hotcam and wondering if this is going to be a good combination. obviously its a bit tough without any other info on the heads, but any help would be appreciated.

If it is a good deal, go for it. Most of these combinations make for a fun driver. I always try to find good deals before specific parts and my builds always come out fun and they run.

Figure out who ported them and see how good of a job they did before making a offer.

Default got em!

I ended up buying the heads. He believes they were done at West Coast Cylinder Head although there is no proof. Whoever did them, did a great job. Complete with a 4 point valve job as well. With the heads, came a set of 1.85 comp roller rockers, slightly used. I have to do some math, but i doubt i can run them with the hotcam. I could use the stock ones on the cam, or the 1.85's with the stock cam. i do have a question: how am i going to know how much piston to valve clearance i have? i should be safe, but i realized that i don't know how to figure that out.

Well you can either do the dial indicator method or the clay on the piston method, but you should be fine, with the 1.85 rockers your lift goes to .596 only and really its duration that you need to worry about, and the hot cam has a lower duration so you should be fine, but I always check just to make sure. Definitely get a pusrhod length checker and measure for the right size pushrod. CC the combustion chambers to see if they were milled or not cause that will change allot of the clearances and measurements.
