The best way to get the perfect setup is to call someone like Martin at Tick Performance, Geoff at EPS, or Texas Speed and talk to them about the goals and what you want with your car and they will be able to match up a set that will be perfect what you are looking for. There are to many variables for me just to say XXXX and XXXX together will be the best for your car.

I would need a little more info to properly spec a cam for you. Such as idle characteristics that you're looking for, other modifications already done, etc. But given the parameters that you just gave us a Tsunami cam would work very well. As far as the head choice, it would depend on your budget. I'd start off with the stage 2.5 5.3 head, then go to our aftermarket PRC AsCast head, then our top of the line heads would be our PRC 227cc aftermarket castings. If you would like, give us a call and we would be happy to help.

The best low budget heads would be some used 317 heads milled to 65cc. You will pick up 25whp as cast. Cam is all about preference but a good street strip cam with keeping stock ls6 intake will have a 42 ivc and stay in the 220 - 228 duration. Depending on staying emissions legal or not you want to stay around -5 degreees overlap for emissions and if you don't have emissions you can have valve overlap go all the way to around 10 degrees overlap and still have a street friendly car.

Agreed, with 2000PEWTERT/A. Best bet, call a tried and proven shop that is recognized by more then just your "local guy." Information is your friend, when doing any build.
