hello all, I have been searching for a couple hours now and cant find an swer to the portion of my iD question. I have what I beleive to be an 5.7 LS1 from a 01 Camaro. I got it used from a yard. but located a few numbers as described below

decklid front passenger side:
VF040150665 (so if i am correct this engine is from an 04'?)

drivers side block casting:
12561168 5.7 LS1 from 01-?

this is where I need help I find laser etched numbers above the oil filter on a pad :
K239
168 (what do these mean? is there anyway to find out what kind of car this engine is from)

heads are 241's with laser etched number
4012MK
244365

Please help with the decoding or point me to understand what the K239 168 mean and any info anyone can provide. I tried to apply some numbers to a vin decode post on this site but was unseuccesful. Thanks in advance

well i guess no help out there yet? is there a way to tell what kind of car or a vin just from the engine? Thanks anyone
