From what I understand a stock LS1 will hold around 550 rwhp very safely if it's tuned right.

Well is gonna be carbed ....also need to know the easiest way to up compression...has 9.5 from the factory

I have seen stock bottom end ls motors make 600-800hp sometimes even more with FI and a really good tune, but they can easily make 500-600 reliably for a long time. Mill the heads or run a thinner head gasket to pump compression up.

Check the Forced Induction section there are some sticky threads at the top for stock bottom ends. Lots of guys in the 600's some guys in the 700's and a couple in the 800's.

Now take all of that for what it's worth as what you intend to use the vehicle for might be different. For example that 800hp motor might not last 5 laps on a road course, etc etc.
