Default Now the time??

I have a 2000 WS6 motor w/4l60e I'm installing in a 55 Chevy,Me being new to Ls1 motors and the engine out of the car for a few weeks is their any must change items??? oil pump,any gasket pronto go bad??
I would rather change something now while the engine is on a stand

PS I drove the car home but" broken '' oil pressure gauge and conan thanks for the tip on the anti-seize

how many miles on the motor ?if 50k + ,consider a new timing chain and rocker arm bearings .what cam is in it ? if stock consider a better cam .if you do a cam swap get new springs and harden push rods .

man just be cool pulling them exhaust mani bolts. bust the ends loose first

thanks guys,I was'' told'' 30k on the motor but good Idea to do timing chain and maybe cam/lifters.depending on the cost thank again

If your going to do the timing chain you may as well replace the oil pump at the same time. Depending on your budget you may want to just get the car together and running and then put what money is left into the motor. I've read through a lot of build threads where people put a lot of money into the motor and then the build stalls because they run out of money later on.
