tire sizes on factory rims

Default tire sizes on factory rims

quick question, have a 2000 firehawk with factory firehawk rims, the 17's that everybody gets from the factory that use 275/40/17 size tires. can i use a 265/40/17 on trims with no issue/danger? found a great deal is why i ask

Yes, you can use a 255, 265, 275 mm width tire on the 9" wide wheel. The 265 is slightly shorter than the stock 275 which is 25.66 vs, 25.35" for a 265/40/17 , but not enough to be any issue.

If you get a good deal on all 4 go for it. Staggering tires for that small of a difference is not worth it since you cant rotate the wheels correctly and you get a lot less life out of them!
