Default Brakes

Had a 5.3 vortec with a 4l60e installed on my 64 Chevy Impala. Both from a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. No it's not an LS but I had to replace the intake manifold, pulleys, pumps and exhaust manifold from 97-00 Camrao/ Trans Am and Corvette. Just replaced the original master cylinder, booster, brake pads and wheel cylinders and the darn brakes don't work. I hit the brakes and I hear a gush of air come out of the air filter. The only way they work is I leave the E brake on and then hit the break pedal. The E brake themselves don't work either. I have to use them together. Any ideas of where I zigged instead of zagged? At this point I'm thinking that I should of just rebuilt a 327 dropped it in there and installed a Holley Terminator EFI - 4BBL TBI system.

Sorry, I have no input for your problem.

I'm just here to say that the word is "brakes".

Don't be offended.
