Default cam for 6.0l lq4?

having trouble deciding on a cam for engine son and i are rebuilding. here is what we have so far...99 lq4 engine, 317 stock heads(to replace iron heads), ls1 intake with truck throttle body and dougs long tube headers going in a 72 nova for sons high school car.
looking for something to drive around but still with some punch when needed.
was looking at texas speed cam 233/239 595/603 112 lsa that is being sold locally here at good deal($250 new in box). i know will have to upgrade heads but is this a good mild cam or to much for street driving? any help will be greatly appreciated or any other cams that might go good with the combination we have.
thks for your help

Depends on the rest of the combo, but in general it's a nice middle of the road cam IMO

no your heading in the right direction. but question, how much is your total RWHP goals? and i dont think you would need to even do head work immediately, because the 317's are rlly good heads. (came on the Pontiac WS6) but the only thing is that they have very low compression (317s are usually used for FI cars) so you might want to be careful if your looking at a CNC job being done simply because you can give it too much air!
your cam has a pretty big lift with a shorter duration so your 317s would get you out from a dog but not too sure if your cam is gonna get the most of its capability simply due to the heads. (just my opinion tho)
would like to here an update on your status of the nova too!

What transmission, auto or manual...?
With a auto, I'd go with a 3600 stall TC.
With a manual I'd go with 4.10 rear gears.

Myself I'd go with a smaller cam if it's a daily driver, and gets driven in stop/go traffic frequently. Something like a 228/232 112lsa.
