Help With Mystery Cam Problems Like I mentioned in my previous thread, the previous owner of my '99 Z had swapped the stock cam with one he bought off ebay and was only described as mild... He did nothing else to the car (to include springs, rods, etc) other than an SLP lid and apparently a TB bypass mod.
Among the many problems with the car (I should have read the codes before buying it but I was in a hurry), I'm getting the following codes: P0121, P0161, P0300, P0404, P0410, P0412, P0418... I know the misfire code is from the cam since the car was not tuned and the downstream O2 sensor really doesn't affect engine performance..... BUT I'm getting like 16 mpg with gentle throttle use and half highway, half stoplight driving. I'm also getting what seems like a rich condition in warmer weather (>75 degrees) as the RPMs fluctuate between 400 and 700 at idle and I get a lot of surging at the low end of a gear.
I guess my question is how many of these things can be attributed to needing a tune.
