O2 sensor location
I have done a little searching but cant seem to find.
My project is ready for the exhaust shop.
Running stock manifolds, going to be duals to single 2 in, 2 out muffler.
LS1.
How far away from engine do I need to locate the front o2's? Not running cats, or rear o2's.
Is there a sweet spot? Is it critical or not so much? Big or small exceptable range?
Thanks
Darrell

I appreciate the replys. Looks to be a little difference in opinion. I don't have anything stock to look at. This is in a 72 Vega. I had a couple scraps of exhaust that was still on some old truck manifolds. Looks like they were about 6 to 8inches from manifold flange.
What I was hoping for, is that maybe a tuner has found that there is a sweet spot that seems to give better feedback. I can put it anywhere I want at this point. Just wanted to pick best spot. Just stock set up, so prob don't really matter that much. I shoot for easy to access, with in 8" of flange.
