Looking at a 1999 t/a with full bolt-ons but no tune.
The car is a 1999 a4 t/a with 90,xxx miles with lid, bbk 80mm tb, bbk intake manifold, lt headers high flow cat and full exhaust. The car needs to be tuned he told me. I was wondering if running these mods with no tune could have done damage to the motor? It just threw me off why be so close to finishing up a fun street car to not tune it but decide yo sell

My first thought is why would someone care enough to spend all this money, but no spend just a tiny extra for a tune. I mean you spend the money on bolt ons for performance, and a tune will help with that as well, and help to ensure safety, drivability, etc... IDK, maybe it's just me, but it would make me question things...maybe even other possible unforseen things that could arise

That is that I was thinking a 100%. Why spend more than $2000 on bolt-ons and that's if he installed them. He also said nothing about the car needing a tune until I said who tuned your car? Since I know having those mods most would have their car tuned. Then he was saying a tune will cost $100, he said a local shop told him that. I don't know any shops that tune for $100.

I've never heard of a $100 tune either lol. You might be fine with this car, but if it were me personally i'd pass. I mean there will other good deals, and something that wouldn't be so questionable. That's just my opinion
