Hey guys just wanted to get some educated info/opinions on a motor build for my vehicle. I currently have a lifted sierra 1500 ext cab short bed with
5.3 stock engine
4l60e trans
4.56 front and rear diffs
37" tires
I believe the GVWR is around 6000
Looking for some info on a decent build that i can achieve around 450hp fuel injected with around $6k. Should i stroke the 5.3? use ls2? ls3? internals?
I have experience with top end components, but where i get fuzzy is the bottom end internals as i haven't spent a whole lot of time there so any theories, know how, or detailed info would be very appreciated.
The reason I'm doing this is because I have quite a few miles on the engine as its a 5.3 and its been pushing 37's and 20 inch wheels for quite a while now, still goes A to B fine but its getting tired and i would like to put together my own engine with some more guts.
thanks guys!
