how many miles are too many on ls1??
im about to purchase a 98-99 ls1 powered car. probably an a4 if that matters. for my price range it seems that im going to be looking at around 80k miles on it. that is about right concidering almost 7 years old..
question is- does 80k seem too much if i were to spray a 100-125 wet shot and some bolt ons.. the plan would be lid+exhaust/converter/cam/wet shot (i like the idea of a wet shot for fear of detonation- i don't care if i don't get out of it what i could with a dry shot). i also realize the main contributing factors would be how the car was treated during the 80k miles- but i won't know so let's say the person beat on the car alot (probably with this type of car) but the oil was always changed and car was maintained..
honest opinions please. im sure i'll hear mixed views on this subject. i plan on buying a stock car but you can never tell what was on the car before so it seems like russian roulette to me but, 20 yrs old and limited funds so what are you gonna do..
thanks in advance..

I saw a website about an fbody that had over 100,000 miles on it they dynoed it like 100 times tuning it and putting other stuff on it trying to blow it and coudnt. However im sure all ls1s arent going to be like that.

Keep it under 6,300 rpms and spray 100 wet and you should be fine. There is a guy at my track that sprays his LS1 with 125k on the dial with no problems. Just make sure you buy all the safety equipment for protection. Good luck and have fun.
