I have always ordered all my speed parts from catalogs, or from ebay, or from here, or you know... This time though, I wanted to use a check or pay cash for some stuff, so I called a few speed shops, part shops, etc. They wanted to charge almost double the "normal" prices! Here's the list:

1.MAC cat-back for LX mustang (299) average $550
2.Hooker cat-back for LS1 (299) average $535
3.Mac pro-chamber for LX (199) average $325
4.Mac ORY for LS1 (199) average $375

What a shock, I never knew those places charged so much for that sort of stuff. I have bought plenty of things at all the places I called, but never anything over about $250, that is the stuff I usually bought mail-order.

Somebody told me about a store that had Hooker cat-backs for the normal price, it was either autozone or advance or something, but I swear I can't figure out how he did it. Does anybody know any chains that carry good hi-po parts at decent prices? If not, I guess I'll have to go back to mail order!

advance on-line did not list a store that I could pick this up at, they said it was like $15 to ship it to me, no other option. So I printed the page at the link above, and took it to my local advance and they ordered it for me, no shipping. total wtax was 299.85, will be here fri. morning.
