another one bites the dust!
Gentlemen, tell me... is there any better feeling than when 2 seconds after launching from the line, you see the headlights of a Mustang in the rear-view mirror? Here's the story...
My good buddy recently bought a 2000 mustang GT, and we finally got around to racing the other night. He won. It was due to my stupidity of course, not because my car is slower, it isnt. I was dumb enough to leave ASR on. Instead of launching from about 1600 rpm and rapidly accelerating, my car bogged and he shot ahead. Needless to say, I caught him at about 115, yet as you can well imagine, I heard more **** than I care to remember about how he beat me. (It was a bit of a pride-buster, since I had been occasionally making mustang-slurs). That was Tuesday night.
Well, after we got off work tonight (Thursday), I said "care to join me at the light?" He agreed. Well... I wont mince words. I turned traction control off. This time I won. Respectably. By atleast 2.5 car lengths, and even more once I passed 90. From start to end, he was never in-front of me, and I had almost a car length on him by the otherside of the intersection. The funny thing is, I think I could have done much better, cause my tires were cold, and I spun enough to the point that the backend was loose all the way through first.
I want to make it clear that I respect mustangs. I like F-bodys much more, but I have to give ford credit for what they are able to pull from such a small v8. The score is now 1-1, and I plan to join him for a tie breaker, Ill let y'all know how that goes.
I LOVE THIS CAR!
