OK here it goes. I drive my car to school today like 30 min i kept it at 1900rpms the whole way. I get to school shut the car off for like 5 min then start it up to move it. I herd a Knocking sound going from the motor. Sounded exactly like a spun rod or main bearing. so i drive back home car home i herd it kncoking going thro the tolls. I get home and it isent doing it anymore. THe car make good oil presure and it runs great. I even took it and did a 1/4mile run and it felt real strong. What is wrong

probably an idler or tensioner pulley. If you get in front of the engine and stick you face next to the lid, you will know if its a pulley.

My `02 has piston slap, it makes a light knocking sound for the first few minutes until warmed up.

ok disconect the belt and run the engine if it's any of the pulleys it will go away if it's internal then it will stay, at this point grab a steteoscope and listen to the engine, or just grab a good ole prybar with a rubber handled put the metal side on the engine and the rubber part to your ear and listen. repeat on several other spots on the engine to get a better feel from where the sound is coming from.

the belt tensior has been squeking like a **** some day then fine on others. IT suck i was gona dyno my car yesterday but then i had to leave becuase of it
