I am about to get a new intake system, but I need some advice and opinions on what kind/type/brand to get. Anything anyone has to say I will appreciate it. Thanks all

Hmm well you can either go with any number of lids from sponser to the right ---> or go with the FIPK from K&N. There's also the Volant induction system. All work well. I personally run a FIPK and love it. Looks pretty nifty too. Got mine used for a great price on this board.

According to a test in Hot Rod Mag (I think) the SLP was the tops for lids. They got .5hp more than the MTI which was second. But 1/2 hp aint enough to worry about. Most of the 'better brands' will add some power, so you can go for looks or price. I suggest MAF ends & the Throttle Body mod too. (search for free mods or go to ls1howto.com)

Performance wise.. a lid is a lid, is a lid. Choose one based on price or looks.

But I believe the MTI lid was the fastest at the track. But still, a lid is a lid.

Now the real question:

Is he asking about a lid/CAI, or an intake (LS1/LS6/F.A.S.T./LS2)?

Peace,
Craig.

On another day, the test results could have been different for that article. Really, it's not going to matter much which lid you go with. I have been very pleased with the TSP lids I've used.

I was wondering that myself. but if you are talkin about the lid/cai, then like everyone else said, a lid is a lid. i know some peoples slp lids dont fit quite right either. i know mine doesnt. i like the way the k&n fipk looks, so i think im gonna go that route.
