Default 02 z28 A4 vs. 02 ws6 m6

He has lts+ory+hooker catback and a diablo.

Im going to race him regardless but just wonder how the turnout should be. Mods in sig

He is a pretty good driver.

I have m/t and i think he has 555 street tires but have have drs now.
Let me know in both situations.

My guess is he will lose if he has street tires and win by a car or so if he has dr's.

Well I assume you are running the 1/4mi?? I think if you can get off the line good you may be able to hold him off on the big end. Hell you have the same mods and even the same gears.....So i'm going with you on this one haus......

you didn BUY that LS6 intake did ya?....you have more mods it looks like unless he has some intake work done also...but otherwise its anybody's game.. you are most likely lighter....will take it off the line...its a matter of your car holding the top end...that 3rd gear is gonna tell it all whoever has it by then will win...unless you or him have major traction problems....

ill call it on you

Jeez just race a few times, what's with all the drama.
Not like you are racing title for title.

You will lose, E.T. streets and the stock converter DO NOT mix.

I'd put my nickel on the m6 car. You'll just bog and if he is a good driver he will already be in (and stay in) the powerband on the launch.... once he gets into third he'll have a couple cars on you. My prediction....

i raced an m6 when my a4 was stock. The outcome was he couldn't drive worth of nothing and I killed him 3 times from a dead stop until around 125 and then he caught, pass and pulled away from me. We also raced twice from a 20 mph roll and he walked me like a dog!!!! You will never win from a roll, but if you can get him from a dead stop your outcome will be a little better. Take the ET street off because you will bog from a stop. M6 has a better gear selection, remember when your are in 3rd gear 1.0, he is in still in 3rd and pulling hard only to shift into 4th 1.0 which pulls almost as hard as 3rd gear.

an M6's 5th gear is the 1.0:1 and i believe the A4 in OVERDRIVE has 3rd gear as 1.0:1...where as in driver theres oinly 3 gears making 2nd 1.0:1...(not sure bout that jsut a guess since i was told the 2nd to last gear is alwasy 1.00:1?

but im almost completely positive that M6's 5th is 1.0:1

(JRP's car domain page has a link and new-cars.com both have gearing specs/ratios on the different tranny's)

Sorry Dude, but its a well known fact that the M6's 5th and 6th gear are both OD.

You are right that most OD tranny's only have 1 OD gear, but the M6 in our cars is one of the exceptions.
