Default How short to go with pro 5.0

have a pro 5.0 in my car. Isn't short enough. Was wondering what is the most i could lop off the end to make it shorter. I want a much shorter throw. I guess where the thred ends would be the determining factor, unless i could find a machine shop that would rethred it. Who has some experiance with this sort of thing. Do you just lop it off with a hack saw, or what. Dont wanna start cutting untill i am sure. Would post in manual tranny section, but there aint much traffic through there.

i lopped mine off with a hacksaw. i cant remember how much i took off, but i made it the same length as my non-angled short stick. if you like, sometime this weekend i can measure how much threads i have left. there were enough threads left on it to where i didnt need to get it re-threaded, i also threadlocked it to try to keep everything tight.

Cut and weld it.

Repeat as necessary.

Much better than throwing away $40.

Also, there is another short stick, Jarrods short stick, that is cheaper. I believe J-Rod on this board can direct you to them.

Agreed. If you have access to the tools it won't take long to make it to your liking.

you can shorten the factory one as low as you want, but without the 5.0 you won't get the short throw to go along with the short stick.

a short stick does provide a shorter throw, it would just be a shittier shifter than you already have if you do not have the factory hurst.

The factory hurst is garbage compared to the pro 5.0 IMO.
