Default 1000 to spend... what to buy based on my setup...

I have been saving, I finally got 1000 to spend (hey, dont laugh its tough to save that much in the military). The stuff i have already is below, what do you think i should go with next? I dont drag... usually the occasional street race, just got newER rotors because my irotors couldnt handle my braking apparently... i was thinking headers? throttlebody? pulleys? or please feel free to put in your two-cents please, i need anything and everything.... Thanks

tq. converter. next time u got some $$ then do headers. from what i've heard a good converter can take as much as 1/2 a second off your quarter mile time and helps a lot going from a highway roll

Torque converter. MINIMUM 3000 stall speed, good transmission cooler and a transgo shift kit. Just be carefull to keep it cool and don't pull too many WOT downshifts (roll racing type use) or it might eventually let go on you. Should probably get a pair of drag radials as well. $1k isn't a whole lot to work with though.

as the rest of these guys have said, either Headers or a Torque converter, though I hear that you will really feel the gain with headers moreso than a TC. but dont listen to me cause I have neither yet. But just between you and I, I would get headers.

I agree.
torque converter (fuddle racing, a sponsor here.. great torque converters for $359!!)
transgo shiftkit ($100ish)
24,000 gvw b&m tranny cooler ($50ish)
electrical transmission temp gauge ($70ish)
labor to install all of that ($300-$350)
and you're all set!

my thoughts exactly, just not in that order

TC (3500+ for me, you need to research this for YOUR needs) , tranny cooler, shift kit, drag radials, then SFC's. i would not own an automatic car unless it had a decent stall in it. you will be driving a different car my friend

after riding in blaSSt's car with the built 4l60e and vig3600, i want to ditch my 6-speed

i would NOT do headers with that SLP loudmouth. i got my headers, and TSP true duals for less than 900$ (i think)

maybe some Mac middies w/cats, I wouldn't think they'd be nearlly as loud as long tubes w/o cats. this way, you'd have more power and then money left over.

i recently had an extra $1000 from my tax return and i bought the following items:

-Pacesetter LTs uncoated.
-BMR boxed subframe connectors
-TSP Lid
-TSP Off road y-pipe
-New airfilter
-New NGK plugs
-O2 extentions
-3" cut-out

spent a total of $875 and i think it's a good starting point modwise. next on the list is a 3500+ stall, tranny cooler, & some DRs.

its not that the LT's thru loudmouth would be loud, it would just sound like ****. i wouldnt mess with the exhaust unless i was putting in longtubes and a new catback or duals

the stall is a good idea...also consider different gears... 3.42s or 3.73s, depending on what you want, how much highway driving you do; wont make a huge difference anyway...but with gears and a stall, couple other things you will have the fun problem of no traction youll notice a big difference

if he does a stall, he really wouldn't need to change his gears......maybe unless he has 2.73's. Even then i wouldn't really do it. Put the $ towards something else.

get a verter it will wake your car up big time. don't forget a good tranny cooler. Then i would do headers next time you havethe extra cash. if you do headers (LT's) you will want to get a different cat back or put a bullet or something in place of you resonater. if not it will be way to loud and get on your nerves. i have had a few friends that had to change there LM set up cause of this.
