stripper car
I've been looking at buying a camaro for a long time. I am wanting to build a drag car so I want the car to be a stripper hardtop. Seems like its easy to find a v-6 car that fits this description. My question is would it be worth it to swap out the 6 for an 8? Do mounts/crossmembers etc, stay the same? thanks

Seems like alot of work but then again, if you are making a drag car, yuo are in for a lot of work anyway. I have a stripper 01 Z28 6spd I bought from my mom a couple years ago. To give you an idea, my old 01 Z28 A4 car loaded was $25K and hers (the one I have now) was $18K new.

I belive the K memeber is different.
If you are building a drag car, your prolly going to put a tubular K member anyways, and prolly dropping the motor and rebuilding it/replacing it, so your gonna be spending $$$ anyways, so why not?
PS, stripper v8 cars are out there... 1SC is the option code.

Crossmembers and the mounts will be different, however since it's a drag car if you can find a stripper V6 and a totaled, ***-ended, V8 F-body you would have everything (Then sell off the remaining V8's parts you don't need). Looks like you can handle the swap, no problem.
As said earlier I'd look for a B4C or a high mileage Z28 first as I think they would be cheaper/easier.
