i am going to buy a 98 Z28....did 98 still have the ls1 or ls2....and what kind of problems can i expect at 42,000 miles?.....ive owned a few 87 and 91' but i wanted a change...ive always been a hardcore third gen..or "turd gen" as ive been told...what do you think is the best bang for the buck hp to money wise?

A 98 z has an ls1, no camaro's or firebirds have an ls2. Not many problems at 42,000 miles. However, it all depends on how it's been treated.

the 98-02 all came with the LS1, most people would tell you to stay away from a 98, im sure someone will explain why in following posts.

No reason to, the computer is just different. You'll find that most people telling you to say away, never owned one.

There are some other differences that you can find here https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....80&postcount=2
As for the people saying stay away, they are just jealous because everybody knows 98 was the best year
