head bolts torque
Hi, I just torque down my head bolts, but i did not mark the bolts with a marker to torque perfectly. I just did them in sequence how my book told me to do. I just torque them 22lb first pass for all of them and torque the big bolts, medium bolts to about 90 degree but don't know if it's really 90 since i don't have one of those dial and also i retorque the two medium bolts another 50 degrees, but once again i really don't know if thats accurate. I might of torqued some of them alittle more than the others and was wondering if thats okay? Just in case, what would happen if the torque settings are off by alittle what would happen? Would i blow my gaskets and then water leaks? What are the symtoms for not torqueing them correctly? Please help

my guess is that if your off 10-15lb, you'll be ok. as long as you went around 90 degrees, it's probably that close. the head gasket only compresses a certain amount anyway, torquing bolts just stretches the threads on them.
