Default slow revving?

Just picked up a 2000 Trans Am. Has around 92k miles. Not totally familiar with LS1s as I have always been a LT1 guy, car got totalled and was tired of dealing with optispark so I decided to try this "godlike" engine. I don't rev the car constantly like a 16 year old ricer, I just did it a few times to hear the exhaust note with the borla muffler that came on it and it seems like the car revs up extremely slow compared to my LT1. A buddy of mine that is a tech for mercedes tells me that it could be clogged cats, bad plugs or coils. Anyone got any info?

i gotcha on this one D...usually clogged cats will give off other signals, such as exessive heat under the hood, codes, and smell....

coils and plugs are an easy way to fix the car...also check your fuel system...just give it the basic tune up man...

all filters, all plugs, o2 sensors, and all fluids....come back and tell me how it goes...then you can go from there

it was throwing codes for both cats but they went away. The previous owner told me he seafoamed the car so I was afraid a bunch of **** got all caught up in the cats

Take those bitches off if you don't have inspections to worry about. Good excuse for LT's & ORY.

yup what he said. change out the filters, especially the fuel filter, as seafoam can disintigrate parts of it and can also collect materials from the gas tank that got broken up.
