Ok...I feel like a total douche asking this but: when i put on my new driver's side exhaust manifold gasket tomorrow, i want to see if it really matters what direction the gasket goes (i would guess the most flat side towards the motor)?

its an 02 and the gasket number is 92467 and it says it is just for 97-00 & 01 year models except for vettes, but it should still work correct?
