Default Is this a good deal or is there something I'm missing?

Ok well a friend of mine, he is 27 now and I have known him for a good 5 years. Well he has a 1998 LS1 z28 A4 with 42,000 miles on it. He bought it with 21k about 4-5 years ago and just doesn't really drive it. The car as far as I know has 3.73 gears, SLP long tube headers, flowmaster y pipe cat back (he says it is more restrictive than stock), 3 stage shift kit, stall converter, chrome z06 wheels with BFG G Force TA KDWs (needs two new tires) and a tune I believe I don't know what else he has but I know he put down 366whp 373wtq, the car is that navy blue purple ish color and was backed into by a lifted truck, it needs a new hood, front brakes and two new tires. I was wondering if this is worth the $8,500 bucks hes asking for it. OH yeah and it has a rebuilt transmission, his shift kit was a stage shift kit and he didn't know it, ran it without a stall converter and I guess he needed a rebuild because it was hitting the floor way too hard. Also if I were to not move on this car, is it safe to buy a 80-100k LS1? Without worrying about problems? Summer is comming and I want something to play with, and besides an SRT-4 this is the only other reliable option that isn't from the stone age or looks like crap

Sounds like a deal with only 42k on it.You say you know the person.Did he take care of it,etc...I have seen cars with 100k on them asking for more.

I bought my '99 Z28 M6 with 69,000 miles on it for just a little bit more than he's asking. Sounds like a good deal to me. If you're looking at ls1 f-bodies or SRT-4's for fun for the summer, then I'd jump on this deal, but that's my opinion.

i bought my 2000 z last year for $11k with 40k miles. I'd definitely go for it, especially with the mods he already has done to it
