Default wipers buzzing in off position?

a loud buzzing noise started from somewhere behind the dash on the driver side. i popped the hood, and it sounds like it's under the cowl, behind the base of the windshield inside the car. i turned things on and off until the buzzing went away - in this case, turning the wipers on and taking them out of their 'park' position stops the buzzing. right now i pulled the fuse from the car to shut it up. if i put the fuse back the noise may or may not be there. i think i might have knowcked a plug or contact loose. has this ever happened to anyone else?

how would i get to the wiper motor? this weekend when i looked at the area at the base of the cowl, it looked like the cowl panel could be removed with 4 big trim pins... my problem though was removing the pins without damaging the surrounding area?

I had the same problem when I mounted my HID ballasts to the frame of the car. Maybe you have something mounted near/on the frame that could be putting a lot of noise through the body? Once I mounted the HID ballasts to plastic the problem went away.

I have a HID ballasts but I doubt they are the problem as they are all the way up front.

No, I still haven't solved the problem - I just put the fuse in when I need it rofl.

If your ballasts are mounted on metal you will have this problem doesnt matter if they are at the front or not. they are grounding out your wiper motor and will eventually fry it.
