about to buy an 02 z
I test drove a very nice auto 02 z28 last night. 58000 miles and all stock minus a blomaster muffler... it does not have traction control.
the only thing that worried me about the car was that it bumped the rev limiter a couple of times when it hit second gear under full throtle. My question is if this is normal or if there is a problem. it does seem to shift fine under normal driving conditions.
thanks.

An auto trans car should not hit the rev limiter any time under WOT, unless someone has messed with the shift points.
First thing I'd do is check the fluid level. The 4L60E is pretty picky about fluid level, if it's even just a little low, shifting at WOT can get wierd sometimes. Also, see if the fluid is discolored or smells burnt. It should be pinkish-red in color if it's clean.
BTW, welcome to the site.

change the fluid and you should be fine, I had an '01 Formula A4 I got with 21k on the clock, car was like new, 1 owner, was babied, and it would hit the rev limiter one time before it would shift into second sometimes, I changed the fluid and I never had the problem again....
