LSx specification overview and comparison? Hello! I've been registered for a while now, but have been researching other aspects of my swap first.
Now I'm looking at engines more closely, and realize how little I know about the various LS-series engines and what makes one a better choice for a given project than another.
My project is a Lotus Esprit S1 that I'm essentially doing a "Euro-Resto-Mod" to, adding an LS-series engine, Renegade transaxle and upgraded brakes, suspension, etc...The project page is here http://www.artandautomotiveclassic.com/Lotus.htm, my transaxle thread here is here https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/442637-mid-engine-project-lotus-esprit-s1-transaxle.html.
I'm seriously looking at the LS2 or LS6, but know there are other options and don't know what would be best for the project.
I'd like to add ITBs (mostly for sound and aesthetics...I know, I know...) and will be going mostly custom on the exhaust and using a standalone engine management system. Something in the 400-500(max) HP range is ideal.
An LS7 is out of my budget and I don't plan to do much, if anything, to the internals.
Is there an overview of the differences in the LS series engines, their specifications, etc? If not, can we make one here?
