Diagnostics help on 02 firehawk Car is a 2002 A4 firehawk w/ 29k on the clock. OK heres the deal, when i am going around 60 to 70mph and punch it into a down shift. It feels like it is missing the gear and going into neutral, the engine is revving but not going anywhere, then I let go of the gas and it goes back into gear. It hasn't done this when I punch it from a lower gear. (like when im in second and it down shifts into 1st)
Anyone have any idea what my problem is???

Take it to a trans shop and have them check the codes on it. You might have a solenoid sticking. I would also check the TPS sensor. I would so it soon so you don't burn your trans up. It might just be a sensor or something more. Have it checked out.

At those speeds you are downshifting to 2nd. You need to have a transmission shop check it out. As a minimum I'd change the trans. oil and filter but it sounds like you might need more extensive work.
