The LT5 was in the 4th generation Corvette. It was called the ZR1. I didn't read all of the info they have available there but it is fact that the LT5 was DOHC and it was in the Corvette.

I don't doubt it's correct. Just the fact that people can log on and edit Wikipedia steers me cleer of them for anything besides broad/general information.

I don't care if you don't want to believe it from wikipedia, but the LT5 did exist for a few years. It was a joint project between GM and Lotus. Check around some other sources and you'll find that it is true.

Blown up view of the LT5, where you can see the quad cams.

Yes and apparently I misread it. I thought he was trying to say the LT5 didn't exist. I retract my statement. However, enjoy the info from ZR1 Registry.

The major party in the ZR1 was Mercury Marine Motors. They made the engine and heads from start to finish. The reason was they had the most advanced casting and machining knowledge in high performance all aluminium engines (mass produced). GM wanted their knowledge and Mercury wanted a long term sorce of cast iron Gen IV Rat blocks. The engines were produced in Mercury Marine's Oklahoma inboard motor plant.

OHC's may flow better... But someone once told me.. "What do you think is easier to drive.. 1 cam or 4." That clinched it for me..

The ford DOHC V8's are really boost/blower friendly from what I'm told. They almost need it. -No pun..

Ls1 has dual cams and is a quad-turbo from the factory...One turbo to spool 2 cylinders a piece. Other factory options were awd, dual hi-flow fart cans, TONS of stickers, and a submarine mode that allows certain SS modles to navigate under water. Dont let them fool you, SS stands for Scuba Squad...
