Default Air Box question with aftermarket hood.

98 Trans Am, Has a WS6 style hood from Suncoast Creations. The original owner didn't buy SC's Ram Air Box kit. I have the stock airbox on it now. Would It be worth it to go get their Air Box? It looks like just a filter over top of the enigine. Wouldn't that pick up a lot of heat?

If its like their Raptor hood, their ram air airbox will seal to the hood. It is better than the stock airbox, but is it $300 better? That's a call you'll have to make. I don't think so. I think I already paid way to much for my $100 lid.

No it is not the raptor. It is their ws6 style hood. I was thinking about a SLP lid but im not sure right now. Which they have a seperate air box for that hood.

I know. I said "if its like their Raptor hood".
I just looked at some pictures and it appears that their WS6 does seal to their air box just like their Raptor hood does.

I assume this is what you're talking about If so, I'd say their airbox would be beneficial assuming you had the cash for it. A nicely sealed airbox like the one in the pic above would lower IATs and improve airflow resulting in better ETs. I'm sure they were designed to work together well.
