Default Bang for buck LSX build

Hey fellas, I'm new to the LSX World !

I'm looking to build a mild LSX setup, 420-460WHP.

How would you go about building a engine for that goal?

buy a used full long block/tranny/ecu and build from there?

build a new block from the ground up and buy a used tranny/ecu?

just want to know where you experinced lsx heads could have saved time and money doing it right the first time

a stock ls1 w/ a decent cam and heads can hit that. why not go for some more cubes say like a 383 and put out around 500?

heads and cam is the way to go but with all the bolt ons like cold air intake heads cam gears exhaust underdrive pully double roller timing chain intake and that should put you around 460 with the right tune but with all that power your goin to have to get a better clutch hahaha

lots of different options, what do you want out of it, and how much money are you playing with.
