oil pressure out of whack?

oil pressure out of whack? Well first off the car is a 2000 camaro ss and everytime i start the car up the oil pressure jumps to around 70 and after about 10 minutes of driving and get to a light the oil pressure needle jumps from 60 to 70 back to 50 and the idle becomes a little rough what do you think is going on? the needle is constantly jumping at idle but when load is put on it stays pinned at 65-70

Well for starters thats just a dummy guage. ls1's can run at idle with only 12psi...its never on unless you do a autometer oil pressure guage..as far as the guage pulsating back and forth mine did that too.i replaced the sensor and then it stayed still...its just the sensitivity of the sensor they are all diff.. you really shouldnt have any problems unless you have a ripped an o ring into the oil pump..but if u didnt touch the internals its most likely just the sensor
