Exclamation Can someone HELP!!!!

Posted this in Maintenance as well, Getting the car ready for my son to drive when he comes home from Iraq. All the insulation is charred off the # 6 plug wire. Car is pretty much stock, 98 Formula 87K, Pace Setter LTs w/ TSP catted Y, Magna Flow cat back. Wire didn't seem to be touching the header. Now I can't get the boot off of the plug. I'll try again this morning and try and post another pic. If anyone can help with a possible cause ley me know if you need more info. I posted a pic in maintenance section don't have the photo on this computer. Thanks

looks like maybe the plug wire wasnt on all the way and the spark was probably jumping.

Yep, the wire was bad and the spark was jumping. You most likly would have seen it at night. Just keep pulling and twisting till it all comes off. Sometimes I have to use a small X-acto knife and slice the boot and peel it off. You might even have to break the plug and then get in there with a short socket

Also, don't forget the boot grease so you have an easy time pulling the boots next time.

Boot should pull right off still. Like said, probably was not on right. Another view to see how close it was to the header would tell a lot as well.

Finally got the boot off. Boot is eaten away but not melted. A small chunk eaten out of the plug boot and the lower end off the coil boot is gone. Thanks for your help have a new set of wires coming from the WS-6 Store.
