Default purge line

I know it seems self explanatory, but here goes. The fitting for the purge line has a nut a a brass open oval in it. It seems that I should be able to slip the nut over the far end of the line and put the brass thingy in and tighten down. The problem is I CAN'T THREAD THE BOLT OVER THE TUBING AND THERE IS NO FLANGE AT THE END OF THE TUBING TO HELP TIGHTEN EVEN IF I COULD. There's likely a simple explanation. Any help is needed.

Make sure its a clean cut on the end of the tubing in order to slip the fitting over it.

After cutting the line you will most likely have to clean it like Nick said. I had to lightly file the end until both fittings slid over.
